Six weeks of summer fun indoor ideas

Just because it’s the summer doesn’t mean the weather is going to be great every day. Here are some indoor things to do with the kids this summer for when the weather is inclement

Buttercups

Inside the Westgate Arcade is this soft play area, great for kids to let off some steam while adults chill in the café.

Puffin Pottery

Get creative at Puffin Pottery at 2b Boroughgate’s Puffin Pottery. Select items from the shelves, have fun hand painting them and then leave them to be fired and picked up at a later date. There’s a café too for snacks and drinks.

Pick up a treat or two

The great thing about Sweet Treats, a little gem tucked away in the Kirkgate Arcade is that there’s so much on offer it will take ages for the kids to decide what they want. The downside? They’ll then devour them in minutes.

Pick out some new clothes

They grow so fast they’re in and out of clothes in no time at all. Luckily Otley has a couple of kids clothes shops for the smaller family members. In New Inn Court, you can find a fine selection at Peek-A-Boo, while Little Munchkins on Westgate has an equally good range. Check them both out.

Toyland

If the kids are after new toys, then Toyland is the place to go. This small Yorkshire chain has been in business for more than 60 years and generations of children have picked up some of their most loved items here.

Modelsport

For those who are a little older, Modelsport is a great choice thanks to a fine range of remote-controlled cars, boats and planes. Be warned, you may also lose an adult or two in here!
