Whitakers

Alfresco food & drink, Business of the Week, Cafés, pubs & restaurants

In 2004, Rob Nimmo swapped the South African sun for the UK’s, er, less sunny climes. After a whirlwind tour around the country, he and his family planted their roots in Otley in 2016.

With a resume including stints at Tiger Tiger, The Faversham Arms, and a role as area manager for Wagamama, Rob took the helm at Whitakers.

Not one to rest on his laurels, he gave the beer garden a facelift with a covered permanent structure, and fired up regular summer barbecues, or braai as they’d be known in his home country. When the Little Corner of the World coffee shop closed its doors in December 2024, Rob seamlessly integrated it into the pub, ensuring your caffeine cravings are covered.

But don’t fret, traditionalists! Whitakers remains a quintessential Otley pub, serving up stellar beers alongside a lineup of events. Quiz nights, live music, karaoke, and DJs are all on regular rotation.

So whether you’re in the mood for coffee and cake, a hearty Sunday lunch, an all-day breakfast, a pint with pals, or a weekend dance-off, Whitakers has got you sorted.
