Set on the Weston Estate, Weston General Stores has been in operation for almost 40 years, serving the community with magazines, newspapers, food, wines, beers and spirits, snacks, pet foods and much, much more. Owners Mr and Mrs P have long supported the local community, both through Weston Lane Football Club and in their support of their elderly.
Weston General Stores made our Business of the Week section in March 2023 thanks to a nomination from Sarah Ellen Mary Jackson in a message that read:
“Hello, I was wondering how you put someone forward for business of the week? Mr Patel and his family have run the off licence up on Weston Estate for 37 years now. Mr Patel has done so much for his community, and a lot of the elderly around there really rely on him, he will do anything for anyone. He has also been hugely involved in the Weston Lane Football Club and has promoted, sponsored and raised money for the club over the years.
“I grew up on the estate and Mr P and his family was always so lovely to everyone who came into the shop, they have put up with alot over the years. I really feel like him and his family need some sort of recognition from the town.”
