You can take a culinary journey around the world in Otley: Italian, Moroccan, Chinese, Indian … and now Greek street food thanks to Thomas Katsamangas, who took over what was the Dales Cafe, a long-standing Orchard Gate favourite that had been in operation since 1991.

Thomas, originally from a small village overlooking Mount Olympus, ran the Dales Cafe as a tearooms for many years, converting to a pop-up Greek taverna only on weekends, but the pandemic changed all that. It had always been Thomas and wife June’s dream to open a proper Greek Taverna and when they were forced to close for three months it was the opportunity to make a change.

That change has been to the benefit of Otley, with delicious freshly prepared souvlaki and gyros, both cooked in authentic Greek style, as well as many other dishes available to eat in, take away and click and collect.

For a full taste of Greece, the menu is also backed up with Greek beers such as Mythos, the famed Greek spirit ouzo and a number of authentic wines.
