Samantha Lofthouse — known as Sammi to her friends — took a bold leap in 2012 when she swapped a decade-long career as a doctor’s receptionist for the world of beauty therapy. Inspired by her children leaving home and ready for a fresh start, she retrained at The Yorkshire College of Beauty, graduating with distinction and beginning her journey treating clients from a single room in her house.
Within a year, Samantha had gone on to qualify as a Dermalogica Expert — placing her among the most highly trained post-graduate therapists worldwide — before opening her own at-home salon on The Crossways.
That home setting allows her to be flexible with appointment times, working hours when many high-street salons are closed. Today, she offers an impressive range of treatments including facials, chemical peels, microneedling, nails, waxing, and more, all delivered with the expertise and personal touch that keeps her clients coming back.
Sammi is also one of the first home workers to take the opportunity to join Otley BID as a Voluntary Member. Previously, BID membership was only open to businesses paying a mandatory levy, but the new voluntary scheme now allows home-based workers and traders to join.
