Soma – both the Greek for body and the moon in ancient Sanskrit – is a superb community-based wellness hub that offers yoga, dance, meditation and alternative therapies.

Owned by Georgie, a keen dancer, yogi and dance movement psychotherapist, and Rachel who also teaches and runs the studio behind the scenes, the bright space above Kirkgate has a full range of classes on offer, including pre- and post-natal yoga, hatha, vinyasa, ashtanga and kundalini, as well as barre and kids’ karate.

The studio is also active in the local community, hosting holiday camps for kids and providing entertainment in the summer months in Market Place, as well as organising retreats both locally and in Ibiza.
