Ben Sowrey and his wife Leah bring a wealth of experience to Nomads Wellness Club, drawing on years in the health and fitness world. Ben’s background as a professional rugby player and coach, alongside the couple’s experience running their own gym in Silsden, has shaped a clear vision for what modern wellness can look like.
That vision has found its home at Ashfield Works, one of Otley’s most characterful buildings. Dating back to the early 1800s, the site played a role in the town’s industrial story, with printing pioneers helping put Otley on the map far beyond Yorkshire. Today, that same spirit of innovation lives on through a carefully restored space that blends heritage with modern design and sustainability.
Inside, Nomads makes the most of that setting. Original features sit alongside a bright, open studio space, with natural light pouring in and a calm, considered feel throughout. It’s a place designed as much for switching off as it is for working out.
The offering reflects that balance. Alongside contrast therapy — moving between sauna and cold plunge — there’s breathwork, Reformer and hot Pilates, and a range of signature Nomad sessions. These bring together mobility, strength work, kettlebells and recovery in a way that supports both body and mind.
