After more than 20 years working across a range of accountancy practices, Helen Kaye decided it was time to do things her own way. In April 2015, Kaye & Co Accountants was born — starting life, as many great Otley businesses do, from the owner’s home.
The company didn’t stay small for long. A move to West Chevin Road followed, but strong word-of-mouth and a growing client base soon meant another step up, with the team settling into their current home at Granville Mount, just behind Waitrose, in January 2026.
That growth has brought people with it. Helen is now joined by Michelle and Grace, creating a small, close-knit team that prides itself on being approachable, down-to-earth and genuinely invested in the people they work with. There’s also Roy, the office lurcher, who tends to take a more relaxed approach to proceedings but plays an important role in keeping spirits high.
It’s a friendly place — the kettle is usually on — but there’s serious expertise behind it. Kaye & Co are ICAEW registered, widely recognised as the gold standard in the profession, and support a broad mix of clients, from start-ups finding their feet to established businesses, charities and non-profits.
Their work spans everything you’d expect, from tax advice and accounts to payroll, VAT and financial reviews. But what really sets them apart is the way they look beyond the numbers, helping clients plan ahead, make confident decisions and build something sustainable for the long term.
