Dodgshons
Once a pet store offering a few pots and pans, Dodgshons moved into kitchenware and sugarcraft supplies when it was taken over by Christine Barker who made the shop the family favourite that it is today.
Now taken over by sisters Julie and Sue, the pair preside over what at first seems like organised chaos when one enters this treasure trove of a shop, but any thoughts of disorganisation are quickly dispersed as the pair seem to have a encyclopaedic knowledge of where everything is.
For the uninitiated, the easiest way to navigate the store is that kitchenware (pots, pans, chopping board, knives and forks, cafetieres etc) are to the rear, while sugarcraft (piping, candles, cake boxes, food colourings and much more) are at the front.
The pair are also among the friendliest shopkeepers in Otley – a real distinction in a town of such amazing businesses – and are much loved by their customers who nominated them for our Business of the Week section in December 2022.
