Cranberry

Alfresco food & drink, Business of the Week, Cafés, pubs & restaurants

The world of magic’s loss was the Otley cafe scene’s gain when Tommy Winder gave up a career as a professional magician to open up this popular coffee shop just down the road from the Parish Church and next to the Kirkgate Arcade.

Tommy’s past has been varied to say the least. Originally born in Otley, was brought up in the Middle East and Nigeria as his father Les worked in the oil industry, and has also had jobs as a truck driver and a (self-taught) pub chef. He’s also part of the Steamplunk prog ukulele rock quartet Ullalele, who can often be seen gigging around town.

Cranberry’s 2015 opening saw him return to his roots and he’s not looked back since with Cranberry being one of the busiest cafés in town and a firm favourite for its great coffee and simple but tasty food menu.
