A Casa di Alessia
A marriage made in Hyde Park and Rome via a stint in Birmingham has resulted in one of Otley’s best-loved casual eateries, Orchard Gate’s A Casa di Alessia.
Run by Alessia Spinola and Chris Ball, it started life in a smaller spot on New Market before moving to its current home in Orchard Gate, where it continues to quietly win over locals with honest, Italian food done well.
Here, pizza comes by the slice in true Roman style — crisp-based and generous — alongside rotating tray bakes, creamy arancini, and sweet treats like cannoli. Coffee by Vergnano is strong, the welcome is low-key but warm, and the vibe is unpretentious and relaxed. You won’t find gimmicks or flash — just fresh food, made with care, served without fuss.
For many, it’s a regular pit stop; for others, a hidden gem. Either way, it’s a little slice of Italy right in the heart of Otley.
