Althams Travel
Originally founded in 1874 by Abraham Altham, Althams is a large group of high-street and home-working travel agents which celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2024.
The Otley branch is headed up by Kathryn Armitage who has worked at Kirkgate shop for 31 years, 20 of which have been as manager.
Staff at the store have more than 80 years experience in booking holidays and can book British coach holidays, ocean and river cruises, rail, and touring as well as package holidays.
Althams works with all the major tour operators and tailor-made holidays are also available.
Other services include:
- Booking airport hotels, car parking and car hire
- Selling Euros at competitive rates in store, while other currencies can be bought on order for the next working day
- Holiday deposits as low as £60 per person
The company has recently opened its 32nd brand in Harrogate and has won the Best Large Agency award (North West region) at the Travel Weekly agent achievement awards 10 years running.
The homeworking team (tel 0800 917 9997) are able to book holidays when the branch is closed.
