Pilates In Motion
Gaynor Coward began her movement journey as a dancer, training at London’s iconic Laban Centre before founding her own contemporary dance company — performing across stage and screen for over a decade.
After relocating to Bristol in 1997, she transitioned into teaching dance, eventually retraining in Pilates under Susan Scott, renowned conditioning coach and Pilates instructor to the England men’s football team. Gaynor also spent 15 years at the Bristol University Sports Medicine Centre, deepening her expertise in movement and injury prevention.
Since 2015, she’s called Otley home — opening the welcoming Pilates in Motion studio tucked away in Bay Horse Court.
Together with former ballet dancer and colleague Leiko Miura, the duo offer everything from reformer and tower sessions to Pilates chair work and friendly group classes in local church halls. Whether you’re brand new to Pilates or looking for a more tailored experience, you’re in expert hands.
