The Otley and Yorkshire Dales branch of the Dry Stone Walling Association is dedicated to preserving one of the region’s most iconic rural crafts. As a registered charity, the group promotes traditional dry stone walling through hands-on training, public demonstrations, and community projects across Wharfedale and beyond.
Members range from complete beginners to skilled craftspeople, all sharing a passion for keeping this centuries-old skill alive. Regular practice days, courses, and events offer a chance to learn something new, get outdoors, and play a part in maintaining the distinctive Yorkshire landscape.
