All Over Each Otter

When artist Jade de Montserrat moved to Otley in 2025, she realised she’d found something rare: a place that felt like home. After years of changing living circumstances, it was the warmth of the town and its strong sense of community that really stood out. It was the first time she’d felt truly welcomed, and it quickly became clear that Otley was somewhere she wanted to put down roots with her growing family.

That feeling of belonging also reignited a long-held ambition. Jade had always dreamed of creating an artist-led gallery with a contemporary edge, rooted in community and open to experimentation. Otley felt like the right place to make that dream real.

Jade’s journey into the art world was anything but linear. One pivotal moment came years earlier, when she visited a school friend, Mary, who introduced her to her sister Laura Robinson, then studying art in Newcastle. Life took the three in different directions and they lost touch for a time, before reconnecting years later and becoming pen pals. From those conversations, a shared idea began to take shape.

The result is All Over Each Otter, a gallery and art supplies shop tucked away in Bay Horse Court. The space launched ahead of the 2025 Christmas season with its first exhibition, featuring work by Mani Kambo.

Today, All Over Each Otter offers contemporary artists a welcoming place to exhibit and sell original works and prints, alongside artist-written books and a carefully curated range of art materials. It also stocks Jade’s own Soul of Fire artist charcoal, bringing her practice full circle into a space designed to support creativity at every level.
