Larger than life Otley legend Chris Payne, formerly owner of Korks on Bondgate has taken over the equally legendary former home of Buon Apps at Wharfebank Mills to open the River Cafe.

Housed in a gorgeous former mill building with high ceilings and arched windows and tastefully decorated, the cafe serves a host of great food under Chris’s Rainbow Soul Food concept that includes using a colourful range of fruit and vegetables.

As well as savoury delights including Buddha bowls, full English breakfast and reuben sandwiches, there’s also a good range of pastries and cakes, as well as Lonton Coffee, an artisan roaster from Barnard Castle.
