Functional Drinks Club
When former marketeer Kevin Gillespie decided to go alcohol-free, he found that most of the drinks available to him tasted like little more than fizzy water.
Embarking on a journey of discovery he started to experiment trying different types of kombucha, a fermented effervescent tea with health benefits, and craft alcohol-free beers.
Realising there was an increasing amount of sober curiosity around, he opened the Functional Drinks Club in Manor Square in August 2023.
The shop now sells the largest selection of Kombucha to buy in Yorkshire, including the You + I on Tap in refillable bottles, as well as zero-alcohol craft beers, ales and lagers, CBD Drinks, Nootropic Drinks and non-alcoholic wines.
The shop also holds regular tastings (see the Visit Otley events guide for upcoming ones), as well as Friday night socials.
