Part-time primary school teacher Louise Stringer started LAIK Coffee, a mobile coffee business, in 2022 and can often be found on weekend mornings between 10am and noon on Mill Lane by the river.
Taking it’s name (pronounced like lake) from the old Yorkshire for ‘to play’ which has Nordic origins, the van began with Louise’s desire to try something new and different and the hope of a flexibility, enabling her to spend more time with her young children.
The van servs up speciality coffee from local roastery, North Star, Kokoa Collection hot chocolates and amazing brownies. She also does a coffee round on Tuesdays around local business parks and attends events in Otley.
