Brown's Gallery
Established by father-and-son team Peter and Peter, Brown’s Gallery is the oldest established art gallery in Otley.
Housed in the handsome 1932 former home of the Otley Building Society, the gallery also sits on the alleged birthplace of master cabinetmaker Thomas Chippendale who it is thought was born in a cottage here in 1718.
As well as a wide range of original artworks, the gallery offers picture framing and high quality gifts.
A plaque outside the gallery highlights the birthplace of Chippendale with the following inscription:
“This plaque commemorates Thomas Chippendale, the famous cabinet maker baptised at Otley Church 5 June 1718. The son of an Otley carpenter, who was born in a collage which formerly stood here.”
